FlashBack

I don't know about you, but I really like to live in some memories that I had and go back to the good old days. I used to listen music in everything that I do no matter what, like my headphones and I have evolve into one. Music is awesome and I spend a lot of time listening music, so with the time I realize that I have some kind of patterns with the music that I hear and that make an acoustic image of memories when I hear one song that in the past was running when I did something important or maybe when I met somebody.

This weird thing in my mind that makes me go back in time is not me trying to go back. It just came out of nowhere. At least most of the flashbacks that I had are good, for example when I hear the song of my favorite band, the day that I heard it for the first time, I can remember the exactly moment and how it was, I remember me trying to sing the song; trying to understand it, cause in that time I didn't know nothing of English, now the song it makes more sense for me and is a good memory of the day when I listen the first time Paramore. This happen to me a lot with all my music, like the first time I played a game in my old friend the PlayStation2, I was listening American Idiot of Green Day, and when I listen the song I see my Play2 and it happens the same when I see my Play2 I hear Green Day. Isn't that awesome!??

Anyway I would like to say thanks to my head, for giving me this crazy feelings that sometimes doesn't have sense for anybody else than me.

"Wish we could turn back time, to the good ol’ days, When our momma sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out."

Distorted words

Once again my teacher Jean Paul attacks with a new activity to make us write. This time I have to make a story with some words that has a different meaning. I think that Jean Paul gave the words in class but I didn´t go to class that day, so I will do this story with my own distorted words. Here we go.

Hi there, my name is Timmy and I´m an insane boy that came from hell to this new city that is quieter than the hell for obvious reasons. I had a problem in jail last week because I´m new there and as I already told you, I´m very insane and also I have a gun that sounds like a girl, and there are some bullies that wanted to bully me. The thing is that I can be an insane boy but I´m not smart so I had to go with my teacher and kill her, but she didn´t help me, so I went to the principal to also kill him but nothing happened, the bullies were still bulling me. I thought that the only way to save me of them was to kill my parents but I didn´t want to scare them. So one day I tried to kill them all, but I couldn´t because they was to many and some of them didn´t accept. So I took the best choice for all and I joined to them, with the ones that accepted me. Now I´m with them, I´m the new bullier, I bully the new ones. Yes, I know that I´m the most idiot guy ever, I just took the best opportunity to me. Sometimes I kill some softly but the most of the times I murder them and then we all laugh. Also we try to win territory of the jail to the other group of bullies, sometimes we are murdering with the other team, but we always win because we are more. THE END.

Please Jean Paul don´t let my mind free, I know this story is kind of bizarre but you know that the story needs to be interesting with the distorted words.

To Kill =  To Talk
To Murder = To Scream
Gun = Voice
Jail = School
Insane = Shy
Hell = New York
Smart = Idiot

Just write and pass it out

We did an activity in the last class that consists in write a tale with all your classmates. You start with a little sentence and then you pass it out next to your classmate and continue the sentence.

We got such a good time writing and reading the tales because there were all the most wierd and funny tales ever. The tale could change drastically from one thing to another.

This activity I already have done it before like when I was in eight grade, and happened the same thing, all the tales were bizarre. I really enjoyed  the activity and write on the tales of my classmates was fun

Colombia very well

Have you ever heard about this? If you don't, let me introduce a little this program and tell you my opinion and my expectations.

This program promoted by the president of colombia, Juan Manuel Santos and the minister of education, Maria Fernanda Campo, presented this program with the purpose to improve the level of English and development of competencies in English all over Colombia. This program will be on action through 2015-2025.

If you want to know better the program, here is the link where you can find everything about it.
http://www.mineducacion.gov.co/cvn/1665/w3-article-343476.html

I really think that this program is necessary and I'm hoping that works well, I'm not going to talk about the government cause we all know that is not save of corruption, but if all of this program is true, it would be a big step to the education of Colombia. I'm very interested because I'm in the sistem now and I will be affected or get beneficiary of this. So I will work hard on this and try to make this country have a better level of English.

1. How much importance do you think that this program is for our country?

2.  Dou you think that the time proposed in the program can reach the goal, or do you think that 10 years are not enough?

Grammar

Grammar can be a nightmare for many, I can bet for that cause I have many problems with grammar, but we cannot deny that is real important thing to know.
Grammar is the bases of every language, and very important when you are learning a second language as me. Grammar gives you all the structure necessary to take into account: speaking, writing and reading.

I know that grammar is hard, but imagine if the structures of a language doesn't exist, it would be a chaos, we can see that chaos when we see somebody writing that skips the structures and we can barely understand and when you are learning a second language you can have some misunderstanding because of this, maybe you used the wrong pronoun or you didn't use the right tense. But please!! It is not necessary to became into a grammar Nazi, of course that a person that talks or write very well has more credibility, but when is a grammar Nazi evolves into a annoying person.
Now it's important to know that your level of grammar depends of  the context, is fundamental to use all rules if you are in school, university or your job, but if you are with friends or posting in social networks a little mistake can be accepted, but just little mistakes!

SAY NO TO GRAMMAR NAZIS!

Idioms

" Idioms " or idiomatic expressions. This can be a big wall between the language and a person that is not native. Why? Because an idiom it doesn't mean what the words literally means, so if you don't understand the idiom you'll be in problems and probably misunderstood what somebody wants to say. So we need to have care with this idiomatic expressions that have only that meaning in the respective culture.
Let me give you some examples.

"Cut someone off at the knees". This one can be problematic if you take literally the meaning, but the real meaning and its use is to stop someone of doing something immediately. Now as you can see this make sense cause if you cut someone off at the knee, well... it won't go that far.

"Too clever by half". For those who are too smug and thinks that they are better just cause they are smarter than other.

"Grinning like a shot fox". When somebody didn't not understand the joke and still is smiling, but with that smile they show that they don't really understand what's going on.

"Part of the furniture". This one is used to something or somebody that has being in the same place for too long.

"Without batting an eye". For those who made something, and made it looks easier cause they didn't act like there wasn't big deal.

Some idioms explain theirselve, and makes the language more funny, but some are really different of the literal meaning, some are part of a culture and some idioms has been translated to another language. But the thing is that the idioms are an important part of any language, and as I already said can be a problem for somebody that is learning a new lanfuage, that's why is important to know this expressions to have a good communication with the context where you are.

Camila's Interview

I wanted to do something different cause as many of my classmates were going to interview people of our career, I wanted to know the point of view of somebody that doesn't know enough about my career, but after the interview I realize that she wasn't so far of reality.

I interviewed a friend, her name is Camila and she study graphic design. With her I could see that we agree in almost everything. She said something really important that all of us need to have in mind always, that to be a tracher will not be easy, cause this is a hard job. I asked her about the expiriences with her teachers and as everybody we all had good teachers and bad teachers, but she had one teacher in school that make her think better about the teachers. I know that there are more bad teachers that the good ones, but we just need one single teacher that make the difference to change lifes, only with the good teacher that she had, she saw that there are some people that likes what they do, people who enjoy teaching and those are the ones that we need to be.

I want to say thanks to Camila, also to my teacher Jean Paul to give me the opportunity of know that I have a big responsibility coming in my future, I hope that I can handle it.

This is a drawing of her because she didn't wanted a picture.
